Welcome to the Just Let Me Learn Foundation
The Just Let Me Learn Foundation is an organization that enables children in economically challenged areas of the world to have access to education built on high academic standards and a world view based on human dignity and self-worth.
Founded by mother/son team, Sandy and Dean Nelson, we personally select and validate projects by visiting potential locations and conducting interviews with local leaders and others connected with the projects.
First, we require that a village has shown deep commitment to education. We view our job as helping those who have already begun the hard work of helping themselves. If there has been visible and measurable progress made by the villagers and they request our assistance, we then work with them to identify the needs of the school and to assess the commitment of the entire village to care for the school after our work is finished. The projects are funded through donations. These projects are broken into two categories, Micro Projects and Major Projects.
Micro Projects
Single investments of less than $10k to serve an immediate need. These micro projects can range from uniforms, to books, to desks, and even electricity for a village like The Chandauli Tutoring Center.
Major Projects
Investments over $10k. These can include construction of a new school, student housing, or even the purchase of a school bus like the Patna School Bus Project.
Our Strategy:
Identify, select, validate, fund and execute investment projects.
The selection process includes validating that the local leaders we partner with are able to sustain the operations of the investment after our involvement is completed. We understand that our donors trust us to ensure that their money is safely applied. 97% of their donations are applied to the specific projects they choose.
